The mummified remains -- Xinjiang Institute of Archaeology

For conservation and the display of the mummified remains, Relicase having the international standard of quality museum showcases, also produce storage systems and display drawers for archival requirements. Our basic ideals of design and manufacturing are based on our vast experience from projects which we have completed successfully. These ideals have now become standard for ensuring our showcases are well-sealed, easy to open and operate, achieving high-security and allows both passive or active humidity control systems to be integrated. We manufacture strictly to the requirements of international museum conservation for cultural relics, combining both the aesthetic as well as functional properties of showcase design for each individual production brief.

Mummified remains are one of the most fragile organic matter under the conservation care for historical relics. Once they are unearthed from the ground, the remains will face difficult and challenging conservation environments before they are being transferred into the proper care of a specialized museum for final conservation, storage or display.

The actual location where the mummified remains is unearthed only serves temporarily as an interim storage measure. Once the mummified remains is exposed to air and environmental pollutants, careful and considered protection must be introduced immediately. Therefore, the entire process of conservation requires stringent long-term constant microclimate / humidity controls to protect this very fragile heritage relic before, during transportation and eventually to the laboratory and conservation storage or display at the museum.

Once the museum has prepared the mummy or mummified remains for exhibition, a technical team comprising of experts from the curatorial as well as conservation areas will then plan the move to the museum designated gallery space for display. One of the key challenges is the adaptation of lighting controls and exhibition ambient conditions. These challenges to conserve the Mummy in varied circumstances and the resulting relocations serves to highlight the many difficulties that our team had to encounter in completing this rewarding project.

How to maintain the museum display cases?

Themuseum display casesare used to display goods with a protective display stand, but it also needs to be maintained. How to maintain the museum display cases?
First, when wiping the showcases, it is best to wipe the display cases with a soft cloth that is absorbent, such as a towel, cotton, or flannel cloth, otherwise it may scratch the surface of showcases, which should be avoided as much as possible.
Second, Don't clean the dust on the surface of the showcases with a dry cloth. The dust consists of fibers, sand, and alumina. Many people clean the surface of the showcases with a dry cloth, but in fact, these fine particles can damage the surface paint of the display cases in the friction rubbing back and forth. Although these scratches are negligibly small and even the naked eye can't see it, but over time, it will cause the surface of the showcase looking pale and rough, and no longer shining.
Finally, Pay attention to prevent water from penetrating into the wood. If happened, it will cause moldy or local deformation of the wood and shorten the service life.

Museum display cases environmental protection new concept

With the growing awareness of environmental protection, the demand for various products and materials is getting higher and higher. The cultural heritage of museums and exhibits are particularly stringent for environmental protection due to their uniqueness and irreversibility.
The museum exhibitors also put forward new requirements, in addition to ensuring its basic anti-theft anti-explosion automatic opening and other intelligent human design, the material has no environmental pollution and new requirements, in order to be effective The durability of the exhibits is prevented.
Traditional museum display cases, in the process of replacement, are generally not easy to recycle and have been thrown away. This is a great waste of resources, so we need to do more at design time. Therefore, we need to consider more reusable aspects of the design, Therefore, we need to consider more reusable aspects of the design, reasonable consideration of the product structure and materials, even if the display cabinet product life is over, most of the components can still be recycled.
Based on this concept, We also integrates environmental protection and recyclability into the design process, uses more environmentally friendly materials, such as acid, in order to achieve zero in the exhibits. What we need to do is to put the appearance of the showcase on the premise of perfection, and focus on the invisible security and protection inside the showcase. This model has also been a concept. It will be a new trend in the development of showcases. All walks of life in the society are promoting environmental protection. We would like to be the most active part and contribute to the future development of the museum showcases.

Tianjin Museum Selected Rare Relics Exhibition

For new Tianjin Museum, Relicase providedmuseum display casesfor Exhibition of Selected Cultural Relics, Exhibition of Ancient Chinese Jades, Exhibition of Ming&Qing Dynasties Blue&White Porcelains from Museums Collection, Exhibition of Calligraphy Painting. Hereby we particularly present two 15m long documentstyle table cases to you.

The two exhibits, Birds View and Roll of Flowers on River, which could not be exhibited in the original museum due to the limitations of the exhibition facilities, were 17m and 13m long, respectively. The two table cases we designed allowed visitors to have a panoramic view of the two items in the Cultural Relics Display Hall of the new museum. The access opening of the case allows for the entire 15m long glass top to be lifted for the easy mounting or removing of the exhibit.

In addition, all the largewall display casesof the Tianjin Museum use the WHMI electronic opening system. The synchronization of the actuators and controls of the opening system was particularly critical. Any linear travel error exceeding 0.5mm in any of the lifting actuator devices would incur the risk of cracking. Our team used closed-loop detecting synchronous drive technology, which completely addressed this problem and ensured the safety of the cases.

MUSEUM DISPLAY CASES PRODUCTION PROCESS REQUIREMENTS

The Maritime Experiential Museum of Singapore

This state-of-the-art museum offers challenges that belie the multi-sensorial, interactive and innovative platform that is Singapore's first Maritime Experiential Museum on Sentosa Island.
The core brief from both the New York-based Ralph Appelbaum Architects and Singapore resident DP Architects was to create almost continuous 30 metres (3.5m height) of highly-specifiedmuseum display casesalong an 8-metre high perimeter wall. This train of a single, undivided wall-mounted showcase houses the main treasure trove of the Bakau shipwreck the museum recently acquired for more than S$300m.
Using pre-engineered parts and a fully-concealed interlocking system framework, the entire showcase was assembled within an astonishing 3 days with another 2 days spent testing air-tightness and security measures. Artefacts were protected within their space by a collaborative ensemble of expert security advisers and technicians that pre-laid elaborate nodes of sensitive alarm wirings.
Lighting experts from Spain-based Lightcibles were detailed in their specifications for recessed ceiling-mounted fibre optic projectors that achieve subtle accent lighting with glass tails that have a dual role in delivering a 6 degree spot to pick up a tiny 3cm teacup to a 35 degree light envelope for earthen jars that measure 1.5 metres across. Apart from this main showcase, another group of tall, slim cases were engineered to be fully demountable with unimpeded views from both sides.
The Bakau shipwreck and Temasek archaeological site that can be found at this Maritime Archaeology Gallery together create a must-see experience of the amazing voyage of the discovery of rare exhibits at The Maritime Experiential Museum in Singapore.
Maritime museum highly appraised us at our thoughtfully designs of wall/standing display cases, which gave exhibition wonderful effect.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange Archives Centre

Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) Archives Centre, which mainly houses calligraphy and painting exhibits, was designed for exchange exhibitions, so themuseum display casesdeployed in it are specifically constructed for the display and protection of paper exhibits.
We use SCHOTT AMIRAN anti-reflection glass from Germany to reduce the visual impact caused by glaring lights and simultaneously to restore the true colors of paintings. ERCO LED track wall-washers are also used for a better performance. A lighting control module is integrated into the DALI control system of the whole showroom to allow for convenience and improved efficiency.
The MiniClima humidity-constant system allows for the unified control of all display cases in the showroom. This system was installed in an equipment room a distance from the showroom to minimize distractions caused by work noise and to facilitate the daily management & maintenance of equipment.
A newly updated TCFA electronic access system and electronic lifting system have been applied in all cases.
Many difficulties were overcome during installation. For instance, the following problems were successfully addressed: the hoisting of 3800*1750mm glass from outside the building's curtain wall to the 8th floor, where the showroom does not have any passageway; the bearing capacity of the raised flooring in the showroom failed to secure the installation of display cases; the humidity-constant system's pipeline from the equipment room to the showroom was blocked by many building structures, etc.
