Shanghai Natural History Museum

The Shanghai Natural History Museum, a branch of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, was our first project with a massive natural history museum. Compared to relics and heritage museums, natural history museums require display cases which are extremely huge or of different shapes with an extra-high load carrying capacity. This is because the dimensions of exhibits may differ from very small, in the case of butterfly specimens to ultra-big like megafauna specimens or skeletal fossils; or the weights of exhibits may differ from light as with feather or fur specimens to heavy as with large-scale geological specimens. Due to the presence of a great number of colour-rich specimen exhibits, restoring their original colours is necessary when introducing an illumination system. Besides, beautiful colours are needed to create an amazing display atmosphere and the colours and materials of case surfaces must be selected carefully before a final decision is made. For cases with a high probability of interaction with viewers, nterrelated structures must be calculated accurately on these display cases for purpose of installation of multimedia devices.

The major challenge of this project is the large quantity of irregular cases, such as irregular polygonalFree standing display casesand circular arc display cases. They require extremely high machining accuracy on sheet metals, glass, aluminum profile frames among others. Furthermore, the design of the opening structure must be clever and well-thought through to secure the motion path of irregular glass.

The Foundation and Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

A series of customized display cases were designed and crafted by us for The Foundation and the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - The Leader of the Nation. These include a curved electronic-lifting mechanism table case, high security standard showcase, long curved wall-mounted case, etc. These can all be opened electronically by remote control, for instance, Electronic Pull and Slide Opening, Electronic Swiveling Hinge Opening and Electronic Vertical Lift Opening.
The StudyMuseum Display Casesare particularly interesting. They are positioned to form an open hollow square of 50m which creates an independent space to store books with similar themes. The doors of all cases are doors with Electronic Swiveling Hinge which are controlled by an ipad. Custom -built compact ceiling lights, whose external surfaces share the identical plane with mounting plane, succinctly illuminate the decoration on the grilling. The Constant Humidity System to which all cases are connected maintains a consistent humidity in the surroundings. Upon entering the Study, viewers have a clear view of the drawer-type cases underneath the inner cases where non-displayed books are stored.

Museum of Ancient Books and Records

As a branch of National Library of China, Museum of Ancient Books and Records is a state-level museum that displays classic works of Chinese literature, Chinese classics and disseminates Chinese culture. Its exhibits have a time span from oracle bones from 3000 years ago to modern & contemporary masters manuscripts, including heritage books from Dunhuang, rare ancient books, metal and stone rubbings, maps, Yangshi Lei Archives, ancient books in minority languages, masters manuscripts and rare books in western languages.
All display cases used in the Hall of Brief History, Hall of Yangshi Lei Archives, Hall of Metals & Stones and Hall of Masters Manuscripts were done by us.
The wall cases in one hall are connected to a MXI-ONE humidity-constant machine, while freestanding cases are equipped with a PMCG water-free humidity-constant machine. Furthermore, to minimize possible damage to paper exhibits caused by the lighting, in table -top cases we use a ROBLON fiber optic system from Denmark on which a series of adjustable torches on the lighting bar creates a perfect balance between performing its function and creating attractive lighting.
This project requires extremely strict AQ inside display cases. We can confidently say that our consistent standard on the choice of materials and technological level will meet the challenging requirements of this project.

The National Gallery Singapore Museum Display Cases

The National Gallery Singapore is an art gallery located in the Downtown Core of Singapore. Opened on 24 November 2015, it oversees the world's largest public collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian art, consisting of over 8,000 artworks.

Consisting of modern and contemporary art, National Gallery Singapore focuses on the display of Singaporean and Southeast Asian art from the 19th century to present day. Through its collection, the Gallery will present the development of Singaporean and regional cultures – telling the story of their social, economic and political histories.
In December 2014, in partnership with Gallagher USA's Singapore office, we and Trika were given the task of delivering high-specification and customizedmuseum display casesfor all the galleries.
Showcases were painstakingly designed and crafted to suit specific galleries. For example, an almost 5m long Mapcase, consisting of four separate display cases, was created within a 2.5 ton metal casing. Various compartments for concealing the functional equipment such as fibre optic lighting systems, semi -automatic soft-closing mechanisms, passive Artsorb ventilators, electronic controls for opening and even a table-top touch-screen were incorporated into this multi-tier assembly.
Anti-reflective glass was assembled and bonded at site with fully mitred joints.
Many design firsts made their way into these display cases for National Gallery Singapore: fully flush baseboards to case profile frames; self-closing safety elements for large, heavy-duty drawers, and the team even had to design fibre-optic lighting for the table- top cases without touching any part of the antique tables.
To achieve the highest level of air-tightness required, all cases were tested on-site for their desired work quality. In order to gauge the built-quality and air-tightness levels, the entire team from Singapore's Heritage Conservation Centre (HCC) introduced test kits for the observation and monitoring of RH (Relative Humidity) as well as lab-specified coupons (ODDY Tests) within cases.
As some of the key exhibits of the collection were loan items from eminent museums such as The British Museum, cases had to pass stringent parameters set based on European benchmarks.

Comes with options for easy access with a fully-automatic swing door, or an electronically-synchronized pull and slide door front. Front glass panels can be in one single piece or divided to multiple panels of two, three or more. A customized silicone inert seal between glass joints provides air-tightness within the display area. Different options for lighting is concealed within the separate light hood compartment above the showcase. Back dressing panels form the vertical areas for mounting small or larger exhibits with accessories for cantilevered shelving, suspended glass panels or graphic rails which can be added later.

Two paintings of the court dresses of Kangxi Emperor and Qianlong Emperor were painted by Giuseppe Castiglione‎ (1688—1766) and were exhibited for the first time relying on two very special museum display cases provided by us. Both were exhibited in the exhibition hall of Ancient China in two showcases with an overall dimension of 3m (Length) X 5m (Height) X 0.7 (Thickness) for a period of three months. In order to exhibit the paintings that will allow viewers to examine these paintings in the closest proximity, we used a single piece of glass weighing a very heavy 612.7kilogrammes, thus setting a great challenge for the design and opening access mechanism of the showcases.

The main showcase framework was produced with 27mm thick steel plates to accommodate the weight load of 612.7kg. This ensures that the case opening is distortion-free even after a very long period of usage. The TCFA electronic opening device ensures safety in opening the showcase; the electric lifting system for hanging picture makes it convenient and easy to re-position the painting from the ground level; adjustments of the painting positions can be manipulated in four different directions. The magnetic display system of the rear dress panel within the showcase allows for the convenient display of exhibits. This system reduces possible strain and damage caused by gravity to fibrous materials hung and displayed vertically.

In respect of lighting design, the lighting approach utilizing dual rows of LED spotlights on the top was finally approved after over twenty lighting test rigs. The lighting solution uses a combination of four different lighting angles which had to specifically provide due consideration to the uniform illumination of the upper, middle and lower parts of the large-scale painting and incorporate the requirement for background light and accent lighting. There is also a set of concealed LED auxiliary light sources at the bottom of showcase for special circumstances. This set of lighting is controlled by a remotely wireless control system.
